Belfry

Brief Instructions

Use the [Take Hold] button to prepare the belfry by loading all the bells. The back bells will be used when less than eight bells are being rung.

The belfry will ring plain rounds on six or eight bells continually until the [Stand] button is clicked. If you have composed some called changes, these will be rung with two whole pulls per row. Plain Courses or Touches of methods may be rung when they have been created or selected in the appropriate method screen. Called changes will terminate once completed. Methods start and end with three pulls of rounds. The [Stand] button always ceases ringing immediately after the next backstroke.

Feasibility Study Only - May be withdrawn in future

This screen is to test the practicality of ringing changes using your browser. Other activity on the computer or tablet adversely affects the striking. The known problems make it unlikely this screen will be a useful addition to the toolkit. Sorry, but this feasibility study is unlikely to continue.

On a PC, Google Chrome rings very slowly if it becomes a background program. Trials on an Android tablet result in very poor striking as the program consumes more resources than the tablets processor can handle.
